San Francisco Giants Salute to the Military Night
San Francisco Giants vs Chicago Cubs

For immediate Release: June 20, 2008 – San Jose, CA:

On Wednesday, July 2 — Show our troops or your fellow military comrades that you appreciate their courage and dedication! This special night is designed to get the men and women of our Armed Forces together for a night at the ballpark. Whether you have a husband, wife, son, daughter, niece, nephew or friend in the military — or are a member of the military yourself — we are offering a warm welcome to AT&T Park by commemorating the night with a Salute to the Military ticket package. Included in this ticket package is your seat in the 'Salute to the Military' section, a commemorative military Giants cap and a scoreboard acknowledgment during the game.

Military personnel get a super special ticket price! And, if you get a group of 25 or more together, the package includes even more! Military members and their families may purchase the special ticket package (seat and a commemorative hat) for $10 each. Non military (civilians!) may purchase the special package for $20 each—a great buy!

Operation: Care & Comfort will be collecting items to ship to the troops at each of the gates AT&T Park that night. Some of the items our military troops especially appreciate are: DVDs, CDs, disposable cameras, beef jerkey, granola or power bars, gum, powdered drink mixes, toothbrushes and floss. Or, if you make a cash donation of $5 or more, you'll receive a military support pin! You'll also be able to write a personal message to the troops that will be sent with the items donated that night! And don't miss the special pre-game ceremony and first pitch to commemorate those who serve our country. A fireworks show will end this special evening following the game. About Operation: Care and Comfort:
Since April 2003, the all-volunteer Operation Care and Comfort program, unique to the Santa Clara Valley Chapter of American Red Cross, has shipped more than 200 tons of care packages for distribution to Marine, Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard personnel deployed in conflict regions. Adopted military units receive care packages monthly, until they return home. Operation: Care and Comfort is a member of the Department of Defense’s “America Supports You” program.
